August Ecumenical Community worship
Three churches first came together to share in service projects to the community of Arlington. We began a Community Thanksgiving Service in 2010 and found that singing and worship together are a joy.
We now share worship in the month of August, rotating among our buildings for three weeks and culminating with a joyful celebration at Lubber Run Park. (see 2014 images above) We also worship together the Sunday after Christmas and the Sunday after Easter. (Links to our partners websites are found by clicking their names below.)
Arlington Church of the Brethren (you are here!) – ACoB is a vital congregation where we seek to live our faith by serving the community around us. We worship with voices, hands and feet on Sunday and in the places we serve. We are open and affirming of all people. We are part of the 300 year old denomination Church of the Brethren while living that tradition in our own unique way.
Bethel United Church of Christ – Bethel UCC is a congregation rooted in a tradition of progressive Christian thinking. Their members are seekers and believers reflecting a broad range of theological positions and Christian beliefs. They recognize the centrality of the Bible and offer people the opportunity to explore how it might guide their daily lives. They are open and affirming of all people.
Arlington Forest United Methodist Church -“Where Love Changes People’s Lives through Engaging Worship, Learning together and serving others.” Arlington Forest UM are active in many aspects of the Arlington community. Everyone is welcome.
