O Lord God of hosts,
how long will you be angry with your people’s prayers?
You have fed them with the bread of tears,
and given them tears to drink in full measure.
You make us the scorn of our neighbors;
our enemies laugh among themselves.
Restore us, O God of hosts;
let your face shine, that we may be saved.
Creator, in this season we acknowledge the African American experience in this land and we thank you for your steadfast presence throughout. In every generation women and men have stood boldly for justice. We lift up the names we know, the names we are learning, and the names who’ve passed in silence. As this day passes, it becomes history. Let us live in such a way that our legacy is good. #ACoBAmen
