Unity Worship
Three additional congregations meet in the building on Montague Street in the Boulevard Manor neighborhood. As partners in ministry, the four congregations share the Good News of Jesus Christ to neighbors and friends in Arlington, VA and beyond. Once a year in early June, we all join together for our Unity Worship Service in three languages, letting God’s Spirit do the translating. A hearty potluck meal follows where we learn about each other across culture and languages.
Bethel United Church of Christ (BUCC) began weekly 9:30 am worship at 300 North Montague in September, 2018. For several years prior, ACOB and BUCC had shared holiday services, a summer worship series, and even a community choir along with a third community partner, Arlington Forest United Methodist. Now, we share a building and a covenantal relationship with which we serve our community following Jesus’ way and God’s will, together. Come Sunday morning at 9:45 am during the school year for our shared Sunday School classes and keep an eye on the calendar for shared worship services at alternate times.
The Cambodian Alliance Evangelical Church (CAEC) meets on Sunday afternoons in the sanctuary. Worship begins at 1:15 p.m. and classes begin at 3:00 p.m. Reverend Hiepson Kaysarn is the pastor and can be reached at 703-779-0422.
The Iglesia de Restauracion Pacto Eterno meets in the fellowship hall on Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. and broadcasts their services via radio to a satellite congregation in South America.
Community Worship
Three churches—Arlington Church of the Brethren, Arlington Forest United Methodist Church and Bethel United Church of Christ—first came together to share in service projects to the community of Arlington. We began a Community Thanksgiving Service in 2010 and found that singing and worship together are a joy. We now share worship in the month of August and periodically throughout the year. Announcements about upcoming shared worship and events are listed on the calendar.
