Our faith must have a real impact on the world, so Arlington Church of the Brethren shares God’s love through acts of service. We are not a service provider, but a hub of service support, coordinating volunteers and collecting donations for local and international service agencies. We invite everyone to make a difference with us whether or not you find inspiration in our building on Sunday mornings. Serving others is worship. Being about justice in our world together is a powerful way of letting our response for all God has done resound throughout our community.

Be a changemaker with us!

Current Service Opportunities:

  • Arlington’s CROP Walk returns this year after the two-year pandemic pause.  Please donate ahead of and save the date for walking the morning of October 15. ACOB is registered as a team. Donate for local and global hunger relief on our team page where you can also sign-up to walk.
  • We’re constructing a Little Free Library in the church yard! The mission of Little Free Library is to “be a catalyst for building community, inspiring readers, and expanding book access.” Donations are requested to support this new ACOB ministry in the Boulevard Manor neighborhood: https://bit.ly/ACOB_LittleFreeLibrary.
  • It is that time of year: nonprofits are sending their free calendars to supporters. Each year, we collect the extras you don’t need and donate them to Sunrise (and Doorways if there is a surplus).  Please place in the basket in the office hallway.
  • Support the Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) easily and anytime by donating online or via the containers set up in the covered entrance of our building.
  • Donate toiletries including soap, shampoo and conditioner, lotion, hand sanitizer, floss and dental supplies to our brothers and sisters and siblings without homes via Path Forward. Place items you purchase, unneeded gifts and those you collect from hotels in the basket in the office hallway.
  • See below for the results of recent service projects. Click on the icon to learn more about the projects and organizations we support. We partner with many organizations on a recurring basis overtime, some are one-time service initiatives.
